Indian Wells, CA (February 6, 2026) – The Crop Insurance and Reinsurance Bureau (CIRB) elected Carmen Mescher as chairwoman for 2026-2027 at the CIRB Annual Meeting being held in Indian Wells, California.
Mescher is the Director of Livestock Marketing at Hudson Crop & Livestock, where she has served in various roles since 2016. Mescher’s focus at the company has centered around recruiting, servicing, and training crop and livestock insurance agents, as well as implementing sales and marketing initiatives related to expanding the dedicated livestock division at Hudson Crop & Livestock. She began her career in crop insurance as an agent, working directly with farmers across the Midwest. Mescher earned her bachelor’s degree from Upper Iowa University.
“Crop and livestock insurance plays a vital role in supporting farmers, ranchers, and rural communities. As Chairwoman, I am proud to serve and work alongside CIRB members in advancing the important mission to ensure that farmers and ranchers have access to the tools and resources they need to manage risk and succeed,” Mescher said.
In addition, CIRB elected the following members to serve as officers on the Executive Committee:
· Vice Chair: Shannon Rutledge, Farmers Mutual Hail of Iowa
· Treasurer: Dalynn Hoch, Rural Community Insurance Services (RCIS)
· Immediate Past President: Lindsey Rinkenberger, COUNTRY Financial®.
