WASHINGTON, DC (April 30, 2026) — The Crop Insurance and Reinsurance Bureau (CIRB) released the following statement in response to the U.S. House of Representatives bipartisan passage of the Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026:
“The Crop Insurance and Reinsurance Bureau (CIRB) applauds the passage of the 2026 Farm, Food, and National Security Act. The crop insurance provisions within the bill, make key policy and regulatory improvements that will both enhance the experience for farmers and strengthen the critical public-private partnership that makes crop insurance the most efficient component of the farm safety net.
Moving forward, we urge swift passage of the bill through the Senate. We stand ready to work with both sides of the aisle to protect and further improve the program through the farm bill process.”
