WASHINGTON, DC (February 14, 2026) — The Crop Insurance and Reinsurance Bureau (CIRB) released the following statement in response to the House Agriculture Committee’s announcement of bill text for the Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026:
“The Crop Insurance and Reinsurance Bureau (CIRB) greatly appreciates the hard work that has gone into this farm bill process. We are thankful for the Committee’s responsiveness to making key policy and regulatory improvements that will both enhance the experience for farmers and strengthen the critical public-private partnership that makes crop insurance the most efficient component of the farm safety net. We believe these improvements get at the heart of our mission – to deliver more policies to more farmers in more regions of the country in an efficient and sustainable manner.
Crop insurance is the cornerstone of risk management for America’s farmers and ranchers, and we look forward to working with both sides of the aisle to protect and further improve the program through the farm bill process.”
