Recap: CIRB’s 2017 Spring Fly-in and Policy Conference
The 2017 Fly-In & Policy Conference was held on April 10-12 in Washington, D.C. The fly-in featured a morning policy conference that included a range of speakers. The first was the conservation panel with John Larson, American Farmland Trust, Kellis Moss, Ducks Unlimited, Andrew Schmidt, Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies and Ryan Stockwell, National Wildlife Federation providing insight of their top priorities as the crop insurance coalition gears up for farm bill. The group also heard from former Congressman Jim Gerlach (R-PA) who provided his unique insights into meeting with legislators and staffers. Finally participants got to hear from Ray Starling, Special Assistant to the President for Agriculture, Trade, and Food Assistance within the National Economic Council (NEC). They finished with hill meetings and a Congressional reception. Thank you to everyone who attended.

Thank you to everyone who attended the 2016 Fly-In & Policy Conference held April 11-13, 2016 in Washington, D.C. Participants met with more than 30 House and Senate offices.The Policy Conference featured speakers including Jim Gerlach (BIPAC) who provided an election update, members of the crop insurance coalition including Jeff Harrison with CIPA, Zach Clark with NFU and Ed Elfmann with ABA who shared insights of top issues and Jenny Hopkinson, of Politico who gave an overview of the current media outlook on the industry.
